During both of my pregnancies I got really into making mocktails. I've always enjoyed the social ritual of meeting friends for a cocktail to unwind from a long day or savoring a fancy drink before dinner on a date night.

So, when I got pregnant I quickly learned that a lot of good restaurants and bars had a mocktail or "zero-proof" section on their menu. And if they didn't, often all you had to do was ask and the bartender would typically oblige with a fun suggestion. But, I found it was also good to have a simple "go-to" in your back pocket to suggest.

Grapefruit with soda and lime is my easy-to-order mocktail to ask for in such situations when I'm not drinking. It's simple enough that most bars can accommodate, but it still makes you feel like you're enjoying something special.

Now that I'm nursing again, I'm doing all that I can to stay hydrated. Water's great and all, but I've found whipping up a quick little mocktail here and there helps keep it interesting and also feels like a nice little mama treat.

I wanted to share some of my favorites with you. All these drinks were designed to be simple and flexible. Have fun mixing and matching with what you have on hand, too!

Here's a shopping list to make all of the drinks.

      1. Raft Citrus Rosemary Syrup - Bright citrus balanced with herbaceous rosemary for delightfully easy sipping. This syrup is seriously delicious, plus Raft is local to our home base, Portland, OR!
      2. Blue Sky Lemon Lime Soda - Delicious soda without preservatives, artificial flavors or coloring, caffeine, sodium, or high-fructose corn syrup.
      3. Orange Juice - This is a good one, if you can find some fresh-squeezed locally, or make your own, it'll take your drinks next level!
      4. Polar Seltzer Water - Any plain sparkling water will work, but this is our go-to.
      5. Liber & Co Almond Orgeat Syrup - A sweet syrup made from almonds and orange blossom water.
      6. Monin Lavender Syrup - Calming aromatic lavender and lemon come together in a refreshing, floral, flavor bomb with a beautiful color.
      7. Grapefruit Juice - Just like the orange juice, this is a good, easy to find one, but you can find some fresh-squeezed locally, or make your own, it'll take your drinks next level!

      8. La Croix Lime Sparkling Water - There are so many flavored sparkling waters, but this is our go-to.

I hope you enjoy these drinks, I had a lot of fun putting them together!
